Hi. I'm Madison. LadyBoss at Click Maker. As you can see by flipping through this little portfolio, I’ve had a long career in visual communications. I’ve worked for a great many bosses in a variety of industries. I love the challenge of fleshing out the characteristics of a concept and spinning words and images together to entice and inform. I enjoy the technical projects as much as the wildly artistic ones and the constant learning that goes along with technological evolution.

Those are the things I like. There are some things I don’t like.

I am completely turned off by “friends” who try to sell me something every time they reach out, and I avoid people who constantly talk about themselves and how great they are. You probably feel the same way. While we would never do these things in person, we end up doing exactly this on our social media business pages.

Having a strong social media presence is crucial to brand visibility. Having the wrong content mix will cause followers to disengage. Yes, sell, but you must also deliver value - social value. Be personal, interesting, relevant, inspiring, and fun.

Make emotional connections. Make art. Cause people to think about a thing in new ways. Do this and your community will grow. Your organic reach will explode. Friends will comment and share. Their friends will see your posts and do the same. Suddenly, you are everywhere and everybody knows your name.

There are two popular rules that establish best practices for content type. The 80/20 Rule states that only 20% of your content should be promotional. 80% should deliver value and not talk about your brand, products or services at all. Value content builds a loyal base of followers who will become more receptive to the promotional content you sprinkle into the mix.

The other is the Rule of Thirds. Promotional material is a third of all content posted. Personal or social content is a third. (That’s right. You have to be a person relating to other people – socially.) The remaining third delivers the value as described above.

I produce the content that delivers value and I help you do a better job with those personal, social posts. Get in touch and let’s see what’s missing from your social-media content mix.
